As a child dancer and cheerleader, Kristen studied jazz, tap, lyrical, contemporary, acrobatics, hip hop, ballet and musical theater at the San Diego Dance Centre, Studio C, Millennium Dance Complex and The Edge Performing Arts Center. She also regularly studied under acclaimed experts including Tina Caspary, Mark Meismer, Dee Caspary and countless others. As a dance instructor, Kristen is well-known as teacher and choreographer for dance superstar Sophia Lucia during her formative dance years from age three to twelve, during which she broke the Guinness book of World Records for the Most Consecutive Pirouettes and achieved many other accolades. Kristen owned the San Diego Dance Center from 2007 to 2016, during which her studio won Top Studio at Kids Artistic Revue (KAR) for five consecutive years while her students won many top awards, including an Industry Dance Award for TAP in 2015. Her students have earned their way into prestigious dance universities, like NYU, Chapman University and University of Southern California. And many of them have thriving full-time careers in dance today. Her choreography has won hundreds of high-profile awards; and her dancers find ongoing success in today’s hottest dance platforms like NUVO, Jump, 24 Seven, Radix and more. She has been a convention teacher for KAR since 2010, has traveled the nation as a competition judge for ten years (currently with KAR and Rainbow National Talent Competition) and has collaborate closely with cause-based organizations like Dancer’s Against Cancer. Today, Kristen travels as a Master Teacher, works in costume design, and enjoys teaching on staff at Danceology Performing Arts Campus. Her passion for dance has led her on an incredible journey and she loves to share her craft with her students of all ages at DPAC!
