DPAC HISTORY
It started with a desire to provide meaningful opportunities and inspiring experiences for the youth to explore their curiosities and passion for the arts.
20 YEARS OF CREATING COMMUNITY
In 2002 Niki Lucia opened Danceology Performing Arts Campus in a small suburb community of San Diego, 4S Ranch. With just 2000 square feet of dancing space, Lucia had big dreams of making a positive impact on the community.
In 6 short years, as the classes filled and the faculty and clientele expanded, so did DPAC, with its move to a beautiful 14,000 square foot building. Soon after, the recession hit and started to cause an effect. Danceology had a few tough years and forced a refocus on how dance can be a positive connection and outlet for our community.
At the 10 year mark, the studio was gaining momentum and dancers were spreading their wings by engaging in more training and performance opportunities and also cultivating connections and friendships.
In 2016 Niki was featured on the cover of Dance Teacher magazine highlighting Danceology and her teaching methods.
Dancer Zack Sommer was our first DPAC alumni accepted at the esteemed Juilliard School. Shortly after, DPAC dancer Holden Kunowski followed his path to Julliard as well.
On Danceology’s 20 year anniversary, DPAC won the Prestigous award of studio of the year at the dance awards in recognition of excellence in dance education of dance styles and age divisions. An honor only a few of the most accomplished dance studios from around the world have been given.
DPAC PHILOSOPHY
Danceology Performing Arts Campus’s philosophy is to prepare each dancer for a successful path as an artist and as a young adult by instilling integrity, confidence, creativity, teamwork, work ethic and passion. A nurturing, balanced, family environment is fostered where education and entertainment co-exist to aid in inspiring students to create their own dream through the arts. Dancers are encouraged to develop expertise in different genres and styles, cultivate lifelong friendships, leave a lasting impression, and fulfill the one of a kind experience of being a part of an elite training atmosphere and nationally recognized education and performance program.
